Formed in 1974 by a group of women in London the See Red Women's Workshop was a printmaking cooperative whose goal was to create feminist posters to be used at a variety of places including schools, bookstores, and political rallies. They created visual material for women’s publications to combat the demeaning and stereotypical images of women in the media. They didn’t care about becoming famous or making money, they just wanted to make a difference in their society. They were together until 1990, but after 1983 they no longer designed posters and instead focused on workshops and activism, but eventually lack of funding put an end to their group.
