Candy Chang is an artist and designer who's work focuses on the relationship between society and the psyche and exploring the role of public space in the world we currently live in. Although she doesn’t specifically target women or feminist issues Chang has created many community based installations, arguably her most famous work being Before I Die. In 2011 after dealing with the death of a close friend Chang decided to create a space for people to share their life goals. Using the side of an abandoned building she built a giant chalkboard inviting the community to participate. Many people wrote their aspirations and the idea was so popular that Chang ended up writing a guide for how to build a chalkboard wall so that people all over the world could utilize her idea and share with their communities.
